Three Berlin filmmakers
Risk in both directions
This year's selection gathers the boldest Argentine work of the past two years: filmmakers who take a risk by stepping in front of the frame themselves.
In Buenos Aires, INVASION presented — together with the Ministry of Culture (Complejo Teatral de Buenos Aires), the Fundación Cinemateca Argentina, the Goethe-Institut Buenos Aires and the Mar del Plata festival — the series “Tres cineastas berlineses: Heise, Schanelec, Hartmann”, from 21 to 24 November at the Sala Leopoldo Lugones.
Thomas Heise, born 1955 in East Berlin, began as an assistant director at the DEFA studio in 1975 and studied at the Potsdam-Babelsberg film academy. Angela Schanelec, born 1962 in southern Germany, is an actress, screenwriter and director; she studied acting in Frankfurt and directing at the DFFB. Anna Sofie Hartmann, born 1984 in Nakskov, Denmark, also studied directing at the DFFB; her graduation film “Limbo” premiered at San Sebastián in 2014.
