Invasion
Hugo Santiago – 1969 – Argentina – 123 min. – Spanish with English subtitles

Synopsis

¨Invasión¨ is the first work that Jorge Luis Borges conceived specifically for the cinema, in collaboration with his friend Adolfo Bioy Casares. It is a kind of modernisation of Illiad, transforming a police thriller into breathless dream-fantasy. The film is set in Aquilea (a city that strongly resembles Buenos Aires), which is under siege by sinister forces. Meetings are held, strategies are worked out, maps are studied. But can the invasion really be stopped?
