The Movement
Benjamín Naishtat, 2016, Arg, 70 min, OmeU

Synopsis

It is the first half of the 19th century. A vast and desolate land has fallen into total anarchy. Various groups of armed men roam the infinite Pampa demanding resources and submission from the few peasants who live there. Although there is a rivalry between these various armed groups, they all nevertheless arrogate to themselves the membership of the Movement, the name of the political force they claim to represent. Among these wandering gangs is the one commanded by the Master, an educated man who together with two acolytes seeks to found a new order for the region. While their forms and verbiage seduce the population, their bloodless methods reveal an unstoppable thirst for power at any price.
